Earth 2: World's End (2014)- Apokolips Now (Transcript)

SCENE 1: THE MULITVERSE

THE MULITVERSE IS A LARGE NUMBER OF PLANETS THAT FORM A SPIRAL CIRCILING AWAY FROM A SUN, AMONG THE PLANETS IS EARTH 2 AND APOKOLIPS.

ALAN SCOTT: (V.O)
We of this Earth are so small and powerless... yet every decision we make spawns a new world. And one terrible mistake can create a future that we must endure for the rest of our lives... I wish I'd realized this before I was Earth's Green Lantern. Back when I was just Alan Scott, before I forgot to listen to the people who cared about me most.

SCENE 2: EARTH 2 (FLASHBACK) GOTHAM CITY- ALAN SCOTT'S APARTMENT

IN GOTHAM CITY, ALAN AND SAM ARE IN SCOTT'S APARTMENT. SAM IS SITTING ON THE SOFA WITH AN OPEN LAPTOP ON THE COFEE TABLE. THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SERIOUS DISCUSION.

ALAN SCOTT:
I appreciate your concern, Sam, but this “Boom Tube” technology, as he calls it... it's fascinating. Imagine, Global Broadcasting Company could be broadcasting beyond our world.

SAM STANDS UP, PUTTING HIS HAND ON HIS SHOULDER.

SAM ZHAO:
You can't trust this guy, Alan. Dr. Sloan is using G.B.C as a front. I'm telling you... The Jaunt Initiative is too damned dangerous.

ALAN TAKES SAM'S HAND, WHO LOOKS DOWN AT THE FLOOR AS ALAN POINTS TO THE SKYLINE.

ALAN SCOTT:
You're the angel on my shoulder, Sam, and I love you for it. But look around... The world is doing fine, and I can make it even better.

SCENE 3: MONTAGE SCENE OF CHARACTERS

IN SMALLVILLE, LOIS, KARA AND CLARK ARE WALKING THROUGH THE KENT FARM.

IN GOTHAM CITY, SELINA, HELENA AND BRUCE ARE EATING DINNER IN WAYNE MANOR BY CANDLELIGHT.

IN LANSING, JAY AND MRS. GARRICK ARE WATCHING TELEVISION. A BLACK SHAPE IS HIDDEN BEHIND THE SOFA.

IN CHICAGE, BARBARA AND RICHARD GRAYSON ARE IN HOSPITAL. BARBARA IS LYING ON A TABLE, HEAVILY PREGNANT WITH A FEMALE DOCTOR TENDING TO HER.

IN WASHINGTON DC, KENDRA MUNOZ- SAUNDERS AND KHALID BEN- HASSIN ARE TOGETHER IN A ROOM FULL OF ANTIQUES AND ARTIFACTS. THEY ARE STANDING OPPOSITE AN UNKNOWN SHADOWY FIGURE.

SCENE 4: GLOBAL BROADCASTING CORPORATION- MOON SHOT DEVISION

TERRY SLAON IS SITTING ALONE AT A COMPUTER, WHICH HAS FORMED A SWIRLING MASS OF ORANGE ENERGY. SLAON PEERS INTO THE ORB, WHICH IS SHOWING HIM AN IMAGE OF MICHAEL HOLT.

TERRY SLOAN:
Very impressive. You could prove useful, Mr. Holt. I believe I'll have to add you to my collection...

SCENE 5: GOTHAM CITY- ALAN SCOTT'S PENTHOUSE

SAM IS SITTING SHIRTLESS ON THE BED. ALAN IS PUTTING ON HIT WORK SUIT, USING THE MIRROR TO PUT ON HIS TIE.

ALAN SCOTT: (V.O)
I trusted myself above all others... Even Sam.

SAM ZHAO:
Don't do this, Alan.

ALAN SCOTT:
Dr. Sloan believes we can make physical contact with other dimensions! This will put my name in the history books, Sam.

SAM ZHAO:
Then why are you keeping it a secret?

ALAN SCOTT:
The history books aren't ready just yet.

SAM ZHAO:
And you trust yourself to make that call? For all of humankind? I'm not asking you to stop the research. Just make it public...

ALAN SCOTT:
Enough, Sam I can do this alone. I'm Alan Scott, remember?

SAM BENDS OVER THE LAPTOP AND BEGINNING TO TYPE.

SAM ZHAO:
How could I forget? This is for your own good, Alan. I just hope I'm not too late.

SAM HAS AN EMAIL OPEN WITH THE MESSAGE “PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION AS YOU SEE FIT...”

SCENE 6- THE 9TH DIMENSION

ON A ROCKY, MOUNTAINOUS PLANET, THE PARADEMON LEGION MARCH TO WAR. APOKOLIPTAIN DINOSAURS WALK AMONGST THEM.

STEPPENWOLF AND FURY ARE WATCHING THE ADVANCE.

STEPPENWOLF:
By giving us entry to this world, the traveler has saved his own, my daughter.

FURY:
We will feed this doomed world to Apokolips... For Darkseid.

GRUNDY IS WALKING HIGH ABOVE THE ARMY ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE, WALKING WITH THEM.

FURY: (CON'T)
Even the Avatars of this weak planet were easily seduced.

THEY LOOK DOWN AT THE ARMY. AMONGST THEM, BARDA AND MR. MIRACLE ARE BEING FORCED TO WALK. THERE HANDS ARE TIED BEHIND THEIR BACK. MIRACLE IS IN FRONT, HIS HEAD BOWED. BARDA HAS HER HEAD HELD PROUDLY.

FURY: Why are there traitors amongst us?

STEPPENWOLF:
The traveler is shrewd, but his mind will not be enough, Fury. We may soon have a need for Mister Miracle's improbable mental gifts.

FURY:
And my disgraced mentor? Shall I give her a quick death?

STEPPENWOLF:
Barda's skills have more... direct applications. A powerful Amazon inhabits this world, and she will not be easily vanquished.

FURY:
You speak of my mother. Wonder Woman.

STEPPENWOLF SMILES.

STEPPENWOLF:
Diana is your mother in name only, Fury. Remember that you are first a soldier of Apokolips. And you will always be your father's daughter.

ROBIN:
You got it, dad.

IN HIS HOME, JAMES OLSEN IS WATCHING SLOAN THROUGH HIS LAPTOP, WHICH IS HACKING IT TO G.B.C SECURITY FOOTAGE.

ACCOUNTABLE:
Very naughty, Dr. Sloan. Accountable is going to have to hold you... Wait, why am I talking to myself?

OUTSIDE THE PLANE HAS LOWERED TO ROOF HIGHT.

BATMAN: (O.S)
Signal locked. Accountable is head of the syndicate, so expect heavy resistance. Stay focused.

ROBIN: (O.S)
I'm not even old enough for a learner's permit, remember? This is me focused.

INSIDE JAMES GETS SCARED AT THE SIGHT OF A PARADEMON, WHOSE PICTURE HAS FORMED IN THE SWIRLING ENERGY ORB.

ACCOUNTABLE:
What's that thing!?

BATMAN AND ROBIN KICK DOWN THE DOOR AND JAMES WHIPS HIS HEAD AROUND TO FACE THEM.

BATMAN:
James Olsen! You're wanted for treason!

ACCOUNTABLE:
Wait, Bruce, people have to see this! Terry Sloan is bringing something... transmitting..

BATMAN USES A GAS GUN TO KNOCK ACCOUNTABLE OUT.

BATMAN:
Bruce”? This kid knows way too much.

SCENE 8: METROPOLIS- INSIDE DAILY PLANET BUILDING

THE STREETS ARE BUSY AROUND THE DAILY PLANET BUILDING.

ALAN SCOTT: (V.O)
And so the Apokolips War began...

LOIS LANE IS LEANING ON PERRY WHITE'S DESK, WHO IS LOOKING AT A LAPTOP. HE IS VIEWING SOMETHING THAT ACCOUNATBLE HAS SENT.

PERRY WHITE:
I don't know why those rotten Accountable hackers love you,, Lois, but by the boots of Mercury... I'm glad they do!

LOIS LANE:
The scoop was cut off mid- transmission, Perry. I've got a bad feeling...

HER PHONE RINGS AND SHE PICKS UP, READING THE NUMBER TO BE SAM LANE.

LOIS LANE:
Dad?

SAM LANE: (O.S)
Lois, honey, you've got to get out of the city. Now.

PERRY AND LOIS LOOK OUT THE WINDOW AS A LARGE BOOM TUBE FORMS OVER METROPOLIS, UNLEASHING A HORDE OF PARADEMONS.

PERRY WHITE:
What is that...?!

THE PARADEMONS ARE ARMED WITH WEAPONS, DESTROYING BUILDINGS. THE GLOBE ONTOP OF THE BUILDING IS HIT AND TILTS BACKWARDS.

ALAN SCOTT: (V.O)

Parademons (The New 52)

First Appearance: Justice League (2011) Issue 1- Justice League, Part One

The foot soldiers for Darkseid and his attack force in conquering planets, based on Apokolips.

The Parademons attack formed the Justice League and several heroes/ villains.

Batman pursued a Parademon wearing a hood covering his face, while he himself is being chased by G.C.P.D helicopters in an effort to interrogate it. The G.C.P.D's attack allowed the Parademon to get away to the other roof, watching with interest as Batman uses smoke pellets to avoid arrest. However Batman fires his grapnel hook through the demons leg and he roars in pain, starting to run and drag him close, leading to him tackling it. Batman gets on top of the Parademon, beginning to interrogate it. The Parademon had been at Gotham Dock when Batman had arrived, according to witnesses trying to plant a bomb. Batman makes a threat, but the Parademon just explodes, trying to kill him.

The Parademon takes advantage in the fight, until the arrival of Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and smashes a firetruck energy construct into it. The Parademon gets back up, shooting down a helicopter with a fire blast from his mouth. In the confusion, the Parademons escapes, changing into an insect like creature and scuttling off into the sewer systems. There it begins to fuse a Mother Box to the wall. Upon seeing Green Lantern the Parademons squawks "Hail Darkseid" and explodes again. This time killing itself in order to protect the Mother Box.

Bizarro- Earth 2 (The New 52)

First Appearance: Earth 2 (2012) #16 (Thought to be Superman)

First Appeared as Brutaal (See Brutaal's page)

Brutaal was one of the Hunger Dogs of Apokolips. He is actually a clone of the original Superman, although the process created a varient that was not identical to the original copy.

Brutaal witnessed Steppenwolf's speech to the world, who declared himself to be his ruler. He is suddenly killed by a blast of heat vision that slices Steppenwolf in half, and Brutaal calls him an idiot and a fool. He snarls that Steppenwolf thought himself a god and called him "Dogs",  yelling he is noones pet and he had only one aim in conquring the Earth. He makes his status clear, being in it for Darkseid and not himself, his steel mask braking to reveal he was Superman.

In #26, Superman and Val Zod (the second Superman) fought for a second time, where Superman comments on Val being stronger than the last and barks at him to stand, fight and stop sniveling. Val tells him to shut up as he is being boring with the talk of violence, rage and death, claiming himself to be a better person than Superman, when he questions if he was affraid. Val gets up stating he won't let Superman stop his freinds from saving the world. As Superman mulls this over, he realises that Batman's allies are going to the Boom Tube and speeds off to stop them.

He is stopped by Red Tornado, who he demands to get out of his way, but she questions if he will kill her like he killed Jonathan Kent. He begs he wouldn't, but she tells him that if he is who he said he is then he should let them save the world. He asks if he really thinks it's that simple, which she replies that he hopes he does but a part of her is just stalling. Val arrives and knocks him down, holding on to stop him from escaping as they crash towards the ground.

Superman attacks him, demanding to know why he wears the House of El symbol, but Val reports why is Superman. He says he knew his mother and if she could see him, she would be appalled.

After the Boom Tube is closed and the defeat of Bedlam, Superman and Val are still fighting. He asks how he is stronger. He crunches his arm and it does grey and cracks. When Val questions what is wrong, Superman pulls back and asks whta he had done to her. He attacks Val again, repeating the question. Val takes his hands and headbutts him. Val tells him he is making it worse as he is falling apart. Red Tornado blows  the rest of the old skin away to reveal a being with an inverted House of El badge on his chest. He begins to speak, but all he can say is "me... am" and Red Tornado states that it is not Superman, but he thinks he is. He tries to beg that he is Superman to Lois, but he calls him a "sick perversion" and blasts him into the dust stating the world is too dark and dangerous for him to be in it.

This page only shows Earth 2 #16 and Earth 2 #26. This will be updated at a later date to feature all his crimes and horrors he commites.

Rumours spread about Kanto calling a meeting to all the people he empowered, while he ordered them to be prepeared and keep Hawkgirl, who they percieved as a threat. After an initial fight Encane gets away, but is quickly captured by Batman who begins interrogating. He reveals that those empowered were told to prepare and although he wasn't high up in rank and that he is meant to treat Hawkgirl as a threat, being on guard in case she turned up. He begs Batman to release him, but Batman shoots him in the stomach, killing him.

Sam comes to Hong Kong to meet Alan's plane personally, insisting that he does so to Alan's driver, Bernard.

Alan spots him in the shadows and tells him to come over, where they embrace and kiss. Alan apologises that he is sorry for being away for so long, saying he wanted to speak to him about that as well, but Sam says it can keep and suggests they go. Alan puts his arm around his shoulder, asking if the penthouse is ready, but Sam explains that he has booked a luxury hotel for them as a romantic time away from work, a few hours away by a bullet train. He jokes that he owes him for being away so long and Alan agrees saying "it sounds magical."

On the bullet train, Sam happily tells him about the place and how they have booked a private wing to themselves and Alan replies that he would love anywhere that is with him, apologising again for "sappy" talk. Alan tells him that he wanted to "do this" when he got there, but couldn't wait, pulling out an engagement ring and proposing. However the train and the bridge exploded before he could answer, killing him.

His body was recovered and put in a body bag along with the other passengers and Alan pledges that he will become the Green Lantern in his honour, even using the ring as the medium to channel the Green.

Apokoliptian Command Towers (The New 52)

First Appearance: Justice League (2011) #3- Justice League, Part 3

The Apokoliptian Command towers provide information and commands to the Parademons, which are erected on every planet where Darkseid's Invasion Force arrives. In Justice League #5: Superman, Batman and members of Metropolis that were abducted by the Parademons and taken to the tower. However due to the fact that the tower did not have the proper tools to deal with Superman's physiology, he was sent to Apokolips.

In Justice League #6:The towers exploded along with the Boom Tubes, taking out any Parademons that were on Earth and stopping any more plans from Apokolips for the time.

In Earth 2 #1these towers were erected very much in the same mannour as Prime Earth. Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman chose Metropolis as the end battle so that Batman could get access to one of these towers and shut it down. A second tower in the Huon Peninsula was being targeted with nuclear weapons by American soldiers, which was meant to be used if the Metropolis mission failed.

Numerous towers had been destroyed over the course of the war, which resulted in the transmition being sent to another tower and the erection of more towers before they could stop them. Batman used this information to develope a virus that would bring down the towers and will be passed on with the transmition and stop the Parademons.

Batman scales the tower in Metropolis, where he uploads the virus into the central control. The virus was successful in shutting down the tower, however a fail safe was triggered, causing the towers to explode (killing Batman) and stopping the Parademons, making them drop out of the sky.

The remnants of the towers, large smoking craters known locally as "Fire Pits" were the reminder of everything that was lost and gained during the war.

The Metropolis Apokoliptian Command Tower was one of the many towers that were erected by the Apokolips' Army that provide power and instructions to the Parademons.

Batman invented a virus that would shut these towers down and destroy the Parademons, choosing the Metropolis tower as the starting place. The virus would then pass onto each tower, utilising a programme used for Apokolips' advantage.

Batman scales the tower on the last day of the Apokolips war and uploads the virus, passing it on and shutting down the Parademons. However the tower exploded due to fail safe mechanism, killing Batman in the process.

But he tells her he wants to have her there so that if they fail, the towers will be destroyed by the nuclear missiles, but preferably wanting to keep them "cold."

Sensing Superman's death, Supergirl leaves the Huon Peninsula, Papua New Guinea and speeds to Metropolis, leaving the soldiers to fend off Parademons.

She arrives in Metropolis seconds after the destruction of the command tower and Robin tearfully updates her on the deaths of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. When Batman reaches the central control of the tower, he tells her to get away. She tries to argue saying that she needs to pick him up, but Batman reveals the full extent of his plan, that once the virus has been uploaded the tower will activate a failsafe that will blow up the entire tower. She asks him not to do it, but he tells her that he has no choice and calling her his "brave, wonderful soldier" tasks her to live for him. With a final "I love you" Batman uploads the virus and finishes the Parademons.

Supergirl arrives seconds later and she tearfully explains that Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman were all dead. But Supergirl points out that they succeded in stopping the Parademons, who are falling out of the sky. He takes great pleasure in constantly cutting Superman's flesh, getting told off by Steppenwolf as the feeling of pleasure is forbidden. Desaad tells Steppenwolf that Darkseid won't stop until he finds his daughter, and Steppenwolf shouts to "all hail Darkseid," which Desaad does not join in on as he is too busy using his powers to torture Superman.

When Cyborg activates all of the Mother Boxes on Earth, he remotely activates both Desaad's and Steppenwolf's . Desaad panics as a Boom Tube opens and transports him away from Apokolips, with no other way of returning to his own home.

Desaad mentions that Darkseid will not stop his search and Steppenwolf tells him that they shouldn't either, raising a "All hail Darkseid."

When Cyborg activates all of the Mother Boxes on Earth, it also remotly activates Desaad's and Steppenwolf's, creating a boom tube that sends him to Earth 2.

In Earth 2 #1-  Steppenwolf arrives via Boom Tube to Metropolis behind Wonder Woman. Superman tries to warn her, but before he can Steppenwolf impails her through the stomach with the blade of his sword. He watches as a swarm of Parademons surrounds him and causes a massive explosion that kills themselves and him, calmly stating that Superman won't kill him after he threatened just seconds before his death.
