This movie is just brilliant and a must see.
Based on true events, this film tells the story about the group L.G.S.M (Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners) and how they raised money and worked alongside the miners during the miner's strike in 1984 under the rule of Maggie Thatcher.
The cast as a collective are just wonderful and are so flawless that it is very hard to pick out a stand out performance, but if I had to I would say that it was Imelda Staunton, who steals many of the scenes she is in. But like I said before everyone is knockout, making you want to laugh, whilst showing the grit of the time.
While Billy Elliot and Brassed Off (who also deal with the Miner's Strike) show how bad the times were more vividly, this film focuses more on solidarity and friendship.
