Harleen Quinzel (Batman Arkham Origins)

First Appearance: Batman Arkham Asylum

Harleen Quinzel attended the Gotham University, where she got a degree in psychology. After this she became an intern at Blackgate Prison, under Professor Hugo Strange.

Strange had her call Alberto Falcone, one of his patients, to tell him that he missed two appointments for their sessions. She gives him a subtle threat that if he doesn't continue with the appointments, she will tell Carmine Falcone, his father, that his son has an untreated medical condition.

Her residency at Blackgate was coming up to its completion around the Christmas Eve period and she was tasked to do an assessment on Jullian Gregory Day, the Calendar Man. After a psychological evaluation, she deemed that Day was insane and could not be exacuted, handing her report in to Warden Martin Joseph. However Joseph tells her to redo the report him as sane, which he maniulates her into doing by saying it will make the city safer and they will thank her for it. She agrees on the condition that she is given  full access the new criminals entered into the asylum. When Joesph asks why she would want to spend any more time with the patients, she says the criminal mind is "fascinating" and would make a good topic for research papers and books.

This led her to the Joker, who was arrested by the G.C.P.D and sent to Blackgate. She began their interview, telling him that it was a bad day and the cops of the city were "always beating on the sick and defenceless." He asks her if she ever had a "really bad day." They go through numerous word associatrion games with the word "fate" getting information about his "origin" (whether it is true or not is unknown- based on The Killing Joke.) He begins manipulating her feelings when he says he met someone that night, whose name he didn't know and she introduces herself. He says it's a pretty name and asks if her friends call her Harley, but she replies that she doesn't have a lot of friends. Joker tells her he has one know and she touches his arm affectionatly.

She is taken hostage in the Prison Nexus after the Joker escapes, with the prisoners implying that she had supplied the codes needed for the escape. Batman frees her and she tells him that the Joker is waiting for him in the Panopticon.

After the Joker has been apprahended, he is taken back to his cell laughing at how Batman had stopped Bane's heart, while Harley watches with a smile.
