First Appearance: Gotham Season 1 Episode 2: Selina Kyle
Gertrude is the elderly, eastern European mother of Oswald Cobblepot, who has a great attachment and love for her son.
After his disappearance at the hand of Jim Gordon, M.C.U Detectives Crispus Allen and Renee Montoya visit her to get any leads on him when he was reported missing. She tells them that he has never been away from home in the period of time as he had been. She tells them "Nightclubs are his business" and he works long hours, but always comes home. Kapelput also reveals that Oswald would never leave his clothes behind, saying they are elegant and happy to get up show pictures of him.
When she returns with the photo, she begins to ask what Montoya and Allen where whispering, but Allen tries to ask a question, pronouncing her name "Cobblepot", which she corrects him. Allen continues asking is anyone would want to hurt her son, which she is taken aback with as she would feel it (a mother's bond.) She goes on to say that some "slut" has got him in her "clutch," gong onto call him handsome and naive. However she asks who they are again and Allen shows her his badge. She gets suspicious, even with Montoya saying they were "G.C.P.D, but honest."
